“Takumi’s”(master’s) attachment to tradition are stated below:

1. Eleven (11) processes to make one craftwork.
  No compromise whatsoever until every craftwork is completed.

2. Master himself selects natural seashells,
  and sets “Raden”(mother-of-pearl inlay) on craftwork one by one.
  Very delicate work with excessive amount of time, concentration and sensitivity are required.

3. Raden (mother-of-pearl inlay), Makie (gold or silver lacquer ware),
  Sabie (overglaze or underglaze iron oxide):
  With succession and accumulation of tradition and craftsmanship over the years.
  Every craftwork is made with genuine skills and dedication.

1910: Family started to produce craftworks. Activities mainly focused on lacquer inlaid with
    very thin mother-of-pearl, over three generations of the families.
1985: Awarded excellent craftsmanship of traditional handicraftsmen of Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture
1986: Certified as first class lacquer-work (Raden work) specialist authorized by Minister of Health,
    Labour and Welfare
1996: Designated as certified professional traditional craftsman by Minister of Economy,
    Trade and Industry
    * Title of “Traditional Craftsman”: To be given to a person with high degree of traditional
    technique and achievements, who manufactures traditional handicraft using local products and
    technique designated by Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry
